From the opening pages of Scripture, God revealed His Redemptive plan through prophecy. Long before Jesus was born in Bethlehem, the Prophets spoke clearly about His coming—His birth, His mission, and His character. These Prophecies were not vague predictions but precise declarations that found their fulfillment in Jesus Christ, confirming Him as the promised Messiah.
One of the earliest prophecies about Jesus’ life is found in Genesis 3:15, where God promised that the Seed of the woman would bruise the serpent’s head. This pointed to a Saviour who would defeat Satan and reverse the curse of sin. This prophecy is fulfilled in Jesus, born of a virgin and victorious over the devil (Hebrews 2:14).
The Prophet Isaiah foretold the miraculous nature of His birth: “Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel” (Isaiah 7:14). This was fulfilled when Mary, a virgin, conceived by the Holy Spirit and gave birth to Jesus, meaning “God with us” (Matthew 1:22–23).
The location of His birth was also prophesied. Micah 5:2 declared that the ruler of Israel would come from Bethlehem. Though insignificant in human eyes, Bethlehem became the birthplace of the King of kings (Matthew 2:1).
Jesus’ life and ministry were equally foretold. Isaiah 9:1–2 spoke of a great Light shining in Galilee, fulfilled when Jesus ministered there, bringing Truth and Hope to those in Spiritual darkness (Matthew 4:13–16). His compassion, healing power, and teaching ministry were prophesied in Isaiah 35:5–6, and fulfilled as Jesus opened blind eyes, healed the sick, and preached Good News to the poor (Luke 7:22).
These fulfilled prophecies affirm that Jesus’ life was not accidental but Divinely orchestrated. Every step of His Earthly journey confirmed God’s Faithfulness and revealed Jesus as the True Messiah sent for the Salvation of humanity.
